The starting point for this piece was a deliberate departure from tradition. Rather than defaulting to the original horsehide, we prioritized the durability and tactile sensation of the garment.

• The Choice of Kip Leather: While common in high-end footwear, kip leather is a rare choice for apparel. Its fine-grained density creates a supple, moisture-rich texture and a refined weight that lends a commanding presence to the silhouette.

2. Preserving the "Fluctuations" of History

The design was meticulously sampled from original archival pieces, but we chose not to iron out their historical idiosyncrasies.

• Intentional Artifacts: We have intentionally preserved elements that cannot be corrected—raw cut edges, visible needle holes, and structural asymmetries between the left and right panels.

• Authentic Finishes: Even the specific stitching over the ribbing and the subtle variances found in vintage production are treated as essential narrative elements.
