FUKU WO HORU DIGITAL ARCHIVE
This page is a limited digital archive prepared for comrades who own the book "Digging for Clothes," which is a record of our activities, and who have the key (password) to open it.
The pattern data included here is
This is a record that leaves intact the structure of vintage clothing that we actually dismantled, observed, and analyzed through the act of "FUKU WO HORU."
It is neither a blueprint for the finished product nor a pattern for reproduction.
We have left them as untouched as possible as they are "traces of the process" that include the thinking of the craftsmen of the time, the historical background, efficiency, and even constraints.
As research progresses and verification accumulates,
New data will be added here irregularly (but steadily).
Please visit from time to time and enjoy the expansion.
In fact, only once in the past,
I tried selling pattern data online for about a month.
That's how I honestly felt at the time.
"Oh, if I keep doing this, I'll make a profit."
"If we can increase the number of archives, it will become a solid business."
But at the same time, I felt extremely uncomfortable, so I stopped immediately.
The shapes created by the craftsmen of that time,
You can display them as your own "products" as they are.
It felt like I was consuming history, and I just couldn't shake the feeling that it was disgusting.
What would happen if selling vintage patterns were to become established as an "easy and profitable business"?
A loveless dissolution, or in the worst case scenario, just pretending to dissolve the relationship.
Such sad business practices may become widespread.
Sampling this outfit,
Think about how you can create something in this day and age.
It is precisely because of the fact that creativity emerges from this.
We must not let go of our passion for manufacturing.
Above all, such a world would be completely uninteresting.
The template here is
It is not a "product pattern" optimized for easy duplication or commercial use.
It is a research document that has been made with minimal corrections, while retaining as much as possible the thoughts of the craftsmen of the time and distortions caused by the historical background.
Also, it is not assumed that all patterns on this site will be used to make clothing.
If there are any errors or inconsistencies in the content,
If you notice anything, please let us know.
This resource room is not a completed space, but rather a place that is constantly being updated.
The data here is
These are research materials that we share on the basis of trust.
It is not intended for commercial use or redistribution.
Please respect the context and time in which this material was created.
I would be happy if you could face me quietly.
This document is
Deepen your curiosity about clothing design and your own thoughts,
I sincerely hope that this will help us to have a dialogue with history.
This is the place I wanted to protect, even if it meant abandoning the temptations of business.
I entrust it to you.
Please go further in.
